WE ARE DONE!!! 22 HOURS! (Unofficial)
First service had 208 Attendees!!
It may sound hard to believe, but on May 11, 2007 over 300 people from around the nation converged on the city of Westport, Indiana. In 22 hours, we raised a 2900 square foot church building complete with an auditorium with seating for around 150 people, 3 Sunday school classrooms, a pastoral office, enclosed baptismal, completely finished restrooms and a sizeable vestibule.
All utilities, heating and air conditioning, complete with furnishings, that's right, COMPLETELY finished!!!
Church In A Day is a nationally sponsored program of the United Pentecostal Church International.
Over 300 people from all around the nation were present from around 5:45AM on Friday, May 11 through 3:00PM on Saturday.
The local church, LIFE Apostolic Ministries, had a dedication service in the facility on Sunday, May 13 at 2:00PM. 208 attended the service. Literally every place a chair could be placed was filled including the hallway.
Many Church In A Day projects have been done nationally by the UPCI.
October 2003 one was done in Oakland City, May 2005 in Cumberland, and August 2006 in New Whiteland (Greenwood), Indiana. See past building projects covered by ChurchInADay.com.
All of these projects have been covered by local major media outlets and one project in Texas was on Good Morning America.
Church In A Day is a great feel good story and the community will rally around the unity of the people from our great state helping a small church build their building.
